The man looks like a royal courts-man or an orator. Whatever he may have been, the wood statue reminds us of the glory of days bygone. The way he emanates a feel of being experienced is linked to our expectations of being old. We find comfort in such statesman like figures who are old but carry the knowledge of being old around.
The statue is made just like any other of its day and time. Yet when we relate it to modern times, we wonder if men today can be as clean-chit or appealing? Or will stripping them off now lead us to see their inherent darkness? The crimes they commit, the stifling they reign on women kind and so much more! Only if stripping them could rid them of monstrosity.
